Richard Young :: Speaker Biography
During studying for his PhD in Chemical Engineering, Richard spent most of his spare time studying all the major search engines ranking algorithms. After being awarded his PhD from the University of Birmingham, Richard began work on the Subject Portals Project which is now part of the UK academic resource Intute. Usability, accessibility, SEO and personalisation were all key factors.
Richard has been consulting full time for the last 3 years and now works for Bronco. His unusual online handle of ukgimp came about as part of an office prank during his research and the name stuck, which is a blessing and hindrance at the same time.
